Training Assistant for Bilingual Learners

Term-time only (38 weeks), temporary post until 31st March 2010

You will work in both primary and secondary schools supporting pupils for whom English is an additional language, and working together with mainstream staff in order to raise the achievement of bilingual and ethnic minority pupils.

You should have an understanding if initiatives for supporting children and young people in the most effective and appropriate way. You will need an understanding of the Foundation Stage, National Curriculum and current educational initiatives, as well as a qualifcation in learning support and evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

You will be willing to travel in order to visit schools and there will be a mileage allowance payable. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Criminal Records Bureau for which the employer will pay.
