Production and Stock Clerk

We have an urgent requirement for a Production & Stock Clerk to work in the Planning Department within the food industry.

In summary, the main responsibilities of the Production & Stock Clerk is to maintain a transport schedule, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time, to the highest quality at the best price. To maintain full records of all transport costs and movements including packaging materials. To collect and record all production performance figures and outputs into spreadsheets and charts highlighting production performance versus targets as required by the Production Manager and in accordance with agreed objectives. To deputise for the Production Planner as required.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Maintain and develop a Transport schedule in accordance to production requirements. Plan and carry out regular reviews with all transport providers to ensure value for money.
Develop ideas and create benefits to the business by monitoring all transport requirements. Respond to and follow up any customer comments regarding transport issues
Record and maintain full transport traceability records for cost and performance purposes.
Ensure that production are provided at all times the correct route cards, kitting lists and labels required for them to fulfill production requirements.
Ensure finished products are booked off in an efficient and timely manner for dispatch.
Maintain and develop production reports to provide fast and clear information to production management.
Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.
Carry out departmental stock takes on a weekly basis and update the MRP system to ensure a high level of stock accuracy across the business.
Routinely inspect chillers, freezers and other storage areas to check for surplus stocks and products nearing expiry so that they can be proactively used to minimise costs.
To monitor end item movements and locations and proactively contact customers to ensure regular and rapid return to Fourayes Farm.
Proactively inform customers when their product has been dispatched with an ETA following any specified customer protocol

To perform this role successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (training will be provided as necessary), and ideally:
Hold a current Basic Food Hygiene Certificate – Desirable
Have relevant work experience (preferably in the manufacturing industry) - Desirable
Computer Literate especially Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Very good keyboard skills.
Knowledge of MRP software and processes would be desirable.
Be able to work from 8.30am to 5.00pm – Monday to Friday.
