IT Operations Analyst
Excellent opportunity has arisen for an IT Operations Analyst to join well established business in Swanley, Kent. This role is working Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm.
Working out of the Swanley site, however occasional visits to London based sites required.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To provide 1st, 2nd & 3rd line support to 300+ users.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Help Desk Support
1. Answer all Help Desk calls in a timely fashion
2. Record all Help Desks on Trackit system
3. Update calls as appropriate
4. Escalate calls in a timely fashion
5. Keep users updated at all times of call progress
6. Close calls
Site Setups
1. Liaise with users as to IT requirements on site
2. Liaise with dept administrator re requirements
3. Configure site routers
4. Setup network cabling and routers at site to enable comms back to Swanley via ADSL
Hardware Support
1. PC Build and configuration
a. Installation of Operating system
b. Source and update latest drivers
c. Create and apply ghost images
2. PC faults and problems
d. 2nd line investigation of user reported hardware problems
e. PC component swap out
f. Hardware upgrades
g. Investigating, sourcing, testing and implementing hardware patches, BIOS updates etc
h. Salvage critical data following HDD crashes
Software Support
1. Installation and configuration of standard desktop applications
a. Building, implementing and maintaining automatic standard application builds via MSI
b. Implementing and updating comprehensive group policies
2. User application support
a. 2nd line investigation of software problems, issues and questions
b. Advising users regarding specific application requirements, investigating potential desktop solutions
c. Advising users in best practice and training issues
Network Support
1. Patch network ports
2. Configure network ports
3. Reboot servers
Peripheral Support
1. Installation of local and network printers/scanners/plotters
2. Installation of CD/DVD devices
Admin Support (when admin sick/hols)
1. Swap out daily/weekly/monthly backup tapes
2. Maintain rigorous records of backup success/failure
3. Alert Infrastructure manager of any backup failures
4. Distribute post
5. Raise capital expenditure requests
6. Get quotes for kit
7. Place orders
8. Maintain asset register
9. Reconcile invoices/send for payment
Telephone Support
1. Setup and programme new telephone extensions
2. Investigate user problems, including but not limited to
a. Voice mail issues/requests
b. Handset upgrades
c. Moves
d. Class of service
3. Patch voice ports
Must have knowledge of MS - XP, Citrix, Photosop and MS Project.
