2 x Temporary Planning Admin Assistants

We are looking for 2 energetic and enthusiastic Admin Assistants to provide a high quality public service and efficient technical and administrative support to Planning Staff. Duties include assisting with:- the processing of planning applications & appeals, the completion of Land Charge Searches, advising the public on the submission of applications and provision of site histories. Both the planning application and land charge systems are computerised. You must be numerate, articulate, computer literate, and have organisational and communication skills, and it would be desirable to be able to demonstrate a familiarity with GIS and/or conventional maps. Education to GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics is essential. Previous experience in a technical/administrative support role to Planning Officers would be an advantage. The postholders will be part of a team, which is responsible for the maintenance of some planning data on the Council's Geographical Information System (GIS).
You need to be able to work under pressure and to deadlines whilst still maintaining a high level of accuracy. You must also be patient, tactful and tolerant and work both on your own initiative and as a part of a small team.
